7^th NATIONAL ABACUS AND MENTAL ARITHMETIC COMPETITION HELD

Abacus, Brain Gym and Mental Arithmetic Competition held for children between the age group of 7 – 12 years

(Featured Four times in the Limca Book of Records)

 4,300 contestants from 246 centers from 20 states of India  competed

 Kids administered National Integration Pledge “never to resort to violence and that all differences and disputes relating to religion, language, region or or other political or economic grievances settled by peaceful and constitutional means”.

Hyderabad, December 5^th, 2010:  Mr. Kelvin Tham, Foundr of SIP Academy Malaysia inaugurated 7^th National Abacus and Mental Arithmetic Competition here at Hyderabad International Convention Centres(HICC) Madhapur Sunday morning. 

Around 4300 children from 20 states and 246 centers from all over India participated. The kids in the between the age group of 7 – 12 years took part in the contest. These children compete to do 120+80+80 mathematical sums in just under ‘5+3+3 minutes(depeding on different levels).

Speaking on the occasion Mr. Kelvin Tham said technology is  becoming a major part of innovation in our lives.  But, only children with well developed mental ability can adopt to changes more rapidly.  Change is an ongoing process in life.  We can make a positive difference in the child, to do things differently from others, if only we inculcate a better learning skills in every child he said.

Adding further he said, participants in this Prodigy competition show the spirit of togetherness.  It is an opportunity to display their mental capabilities  in such a highly contested and enjoyable event.  He congratulated SIP India for organizing competition at such a massive scale.

Speaking on the occasion DSinesh Victor Managing Director of SIP Academy said, the SIP Abacus and Brain Gym programme has benefited children enormously in developing their concentration, visual memory, listening skills, confidence and also their arithmertic skills.  We have numerous testimonials from parents which tell us about the same, he added.

The SIP Prodigy’ competition has entered in to the Limca Book of Records Four times. SIP Academy India is the only Indian Abacus Company to conduct 3 International Abacus & Mental Aritmetic Competitions in India and abroad.  

The few most talented kids Rohit, Slakshnu, Yashas and others gave a demonstration to show their skills.  Infront of 4300 kids and double the number of parents, they were asked to mentally calculate 3270 divided by 654 multiplied by25 square.  The boys gave 3125 as answer in seconds, calculating faster than calculater Yashas and Slaksnu were asked to read multiplication tables of 6482 and 4734. 

Slakshnu, a tiny tot boy from Kakinada not only read the multiplication table of 4734 but he recited it reversly.  The audience in the hall clapped thunderous looking the super skills of the little children.

Immediately after the Competition the kids were administered the following National integration Pledge: 

“I solemnly pledge to work with dedication to preserve and strengthen the freedom and integrity of the nation. I further affirm that I shall never resort to violence and that all differences and disputes relating to religion, language, region or other political or economic grievances should be settled by peaceful and constitutional means.

After the success of SIP National Prodigy - 2006 hosted in Hyderabad, we are now glad to host this National level contest in Hyderabad again where children from over 246 learning centers across various levels will participate. We look forward to continue making a difference to children in years ahead.

The competition for Level 1 to Grand Module A students will be testing the concentration, confidence, intelligence, speed and accuracy of the participants. The objective of the competition is to develop a competitive spirit amongst these children and motivate them to excel in the programme.

 Hyderabad, November 27, 2010: Global Art India, a unit of SIP Academy India Pvt Ltd., is organizing ‘Kolor Champ International Competition - 2010’, the first International Art Competition in India on Saturday, November 27, 2010. The theme for the competition is ‘1 WORLD’. The theme may be interpreted as unity among people/ nations wherein all work together towards peace and harmony. This would be a thought provoking theme for all our young participants who are the future citizens of this planet.

 This is the 7th edition of the international Global Art competition, the earlier ones having being held in Bangkok, Jakarta, Kuala Lumpur, Guangzhou & Singapore. Children from Indonesia, Malaysia, Singapore, Sri Lanka, Thailand, US, Vietnam will be participating in the event. Also, children from Andhra Pradesh, Delhi, Karnataka, Maharashtra & Tamil Nadu will be representing India.

 The contest is aimed at testing the creative skills of more than 750 children across 8 countries between the age group of 5 to 15 years. The competition will be conducted in 2 sessions – one for Global Art students and the other for Non-Global Art children. Around 600 Global Art students are expected to participate in the contest and about 150 Non-Global Art children from across various prestigious schools in Hyderabad and Secunderabad would compete with each other for the final trophies in their respective categories.

 The Title Sponsor for the event is XXXXX and  Red FM are the FM partners.

Global Art is an accredited international creative art programme which develops creative thinking while developing drawing & colouring skills in children. SIP PRODIGY 2008

SIP Academy had conducted “SIP Prodigy 2008”, which was the 5th National Abacus, and Brain Gym competition held on 15th November 2008, Chennai. About 4000 children participated in the event, which was held in Chennai Trade Centre. The event is mainly to bring out the mathematical skills in children between 5 and 12 years of age. The six winners of the national-level Abacus Mental and Arithmetic competition include Pranav Bang, Nidamanuru, G. Pratyusha, Guntupalli and G. Yashwanth.
